500 gr (17.5 oz) of potatoes (the best are Desiree potatoes, with red skin and yellow pulp; the second option would be brown skinned potatoes; the last preference would be white/yellow potatoes -don't worry if this is all you have, you will still get a good result!)
300 gr (10.5 oz) of white flour
2 free range eggs
Turmeric and nutmeg (optional)
Sauce & cheese to serve your gnocchi with (for example: tomato sauce, pesto or browned butter with sage)


You will need to pre-cook your potatoes before the class, and leave enough time for them to cool to room temperature before the class:

Preheat the oven to 170 C (340F)
Put a bit of rock salt in a baking tray (if you don’t have it, skip this step)
Prick the skin of the potatoes all over with a fork
Place the potatoes in the tray and bake them for 45/60 minutes, until very soft
Remove from the oven and let cool for 30 minutes
Clean the surface where you will knead the gnocchi dough (a wood, stainless steel or marble surface works best. We recommend working directly on your bench/counter top)

Increible cena de Thanks Giving!!! Un ambiente muy acogedor, los invitados han dado un toque especial y la comida... Riquísima y en bastante cantidad. Salimos de la cena impresionados, todos los platos con un sabor especial. Seguro volveremos :)

Alberto is knowledgable, good at teaching and in general nice to be around. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to deep dive a bit into cooking in a relaxed atmosphere :)

Our experience with Alberto was wonderful! It started with a very informative tour of La Boqueria. I had avoided visiting this market because of its touristy reputation, but after Alberto's tour of many of its wonders, I am eager to return and explore further. After we had purchased some fresh produce, we walked a short distance to their cooking classroom and patio. We began preparing the food for our multi-course luncheon. Alberto included us in every step of the preparation showing us proper chopping techniques and gave us a variety of other cooking tips. He was very personable, and we immediately felt like we were in our friend's kitchen. While we prepared the meal we were able to learn about life in Barcelona. Our meal started with an amazing charcuterie board with quality ibérica hams, sharp and mild cheeses, olives, homemade sauerkraut, sour dough bread and, of course, wine. This was followed by our fish course of crispy sardines and shrimp on basil aioli and baked baby potatoes. The final course was an amazing beef tenderloin cooked sous-vide and accompanied by a parsnip puree and braised artichoke hearts. It was delicious!! We were very impressed with the quality of this experience. We learned so much about Spanish food and culture in a very comfortable setting with a generous friend. We strongly recommend this tour to others who want an opportunity to experience Spanish food culture in a comfortable setting with a knowledgeable and very friendly host.
