Born and raised in Rome, I moved to the US to study and then worked as a banker in the UK, Switzerland and Milan, before returning to Rome, where I am a freelance head hunter in the wealth management industry. Now that our three children have fled the nest, my English artist wife and I enjoy filling our house with friends and spending happy moments together. We especially like mixing with an international crowd. Vizeat offers a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and share with them our passion for the Abruzzo cuisine which I grew up with and my wife learned to appreciate in our 30 years of marriage. English and French are fluently spoken in our house.

Idyllic venue and great food! Bastia and his wife and lovely, it was a real pleasure to eat their dishes and share some time with them! They are really interesting and have a lot to tell!

I just returned from an amazing trip to Rome, which was kicked off by an incredible dinner the first night with Bastia and his wife. The food was delicious, subtle and fresh. The company was just perfect! My companions are shy people, but Bastia and Joanna, most of all, played perfect hosts with great conversation, sharing their stories and curiosity for ours. They were also very gracious in providing tips on enjoying Rome (I was able to see the impermanent reverse graffiti wall by William Kentridge because of their recommendation). My companions were still talking about Bastia's pasta dish and comparing it to the (many) pastas we had the rest of our trip, so obviously they liked it very much, as did I :)

Bastià and his wife were absolutely wonderful hosts. They have such a warm and inviting home with so many interesting peculiarities such as the fusion of old and new architecture. I especially loved the glass floor beneath the dining room table! Bastià gave excellent descriptions of each course including their history and significance in relation to the region where they are from. It was a great way to introduce such delicious food! I had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to return again!
